Cavitation Tunnel Apparatus for the Study of Cavitation at Pumps and Hydrofoils
Experiments
Measurement of the absorption coefficient Ks and oxygenation capacity
Investigation of oxygen transfer effects under unsteady conditions
Effects of varying operating conditions on Ks and R
Description
The cavitation tunnel is designed for the visualisation of the cavitation phenomenon at pumps
and around a single hydrofoil. The apparatus is equipped with two transparent test sections:
one located at the rotor of the axial pump, and the second at the hydrodynamic profile. The
cavitation regime is established either at the pump or in the vicinity of the profile.
Transition between the two operating regimes may be performed automatically or manually,
depending on the experiment.
